I wanted a metronome that made sense away from the practice room.

Why GigClick exists
The click is simple. Everything around it matters.
A metronome still has to count the bar properly, start the next song at the right tempo, stay readable while you play and keep its display aligned with what you hear. GigClick grew from wanting those things in one straightforward tool.
It is built by a drummer, but it is not only a drummer’s metronome. It is for musicians who need a dependable pulse in practice, at rehearsal or on stage.
The practice side
I had to stop treating the click as something to follow.
I could practise with a metronome and still find my time moving once it disappeared. What helped was learning to hear the space between notes, carry the pulse through silence and move the click away from the downbeat.
Those exercises turned the click into reassurance rather than reliance. I wrote them up as a practical guide that works for any instrument—or with no instrument at all.
